  14. There is nothing to negotiate with the US.

    The tariffs on Brazil have no support in the trade scenario. It’s just one of the ways the US government is trying to influence Brazil’s electoral process in order to install a puppet here. They also are sheltering people who in any other country would be considered terrorists who have attacked the democratic rule of law.

    So yeah, as long as Trump is in power in the US, the reality is that they are an enemy nation that attacks and threatens Brazil’s sovereignty. The world should be watching this more carefully, because if in the future Brazil takes a turn towards more military and defense spending, they’ll wonder why and blame the wrong people.

    It’s as simple as that.

    It’s just that the Trump admin has fired so many people at the level that would ordinarily do the negotiating that they couldn’t negotiate over a tariff even if they wanted to. Every government in the world is having the same problem with America right now.

    Furthermore, there have been literally hundreds of tariff policy changes over the last few months, driven by tweet. There has been no coordination with rank and file government employees. It’s quite possible they don’t know what the tariff policy is, even if they wanted to negotiate.

    This is the problem with government based on the whim of the leader.
