I don’t like Boris for many reasons and I absolutely won’t be voting for him.
But even I got to admit this is pretty cool.
He’s certainly not there for his military expertise, despite how desperately he wants to be Churchill. The amount of weapons we have sent is great, as is the training we are providing to NATO forces, however Johnson is still more concerned about looking good over anything else. If it means he does the morally right thing but coincidence then awesome, however I do not buy that he cares as long as huge barriers for Ukrainian refugees still exist.
Some desperate bitter people already on this thread.
“So, if you’re the right sort of chap, I’m sure we can sort you a fruit picking visa by August”
The main thing I notice here is how close they are sat in comparison to Putin’s 30’ table.
Anyway I hope BoJo is offering more aid.
While I agree with providing Ukraine the tools it needs to ward off Russia, perhaps Boris could next turn his attention to finding out where the £350m per week we sent the EU has gone and when he finds it, he can cancel the NI hike. Then he could look at the energy bill crisis and threaten energy companies with massive windfall tax which increases with their price levels to be used to provide a subsidy to households. Finally, he may be able to find it in himself to look at the fact that despite all the bluff and bluster, we have only settled 1200 Ukrainian refugees in this country – an absolute shambles. He can sack Priti Patel and replace her with someone who at least had a beating heart.

I couldnt give a fuck whether the support is genuine or not, support is support. I can’t hate that. Boris is still a cunt tho.
Photo op to get Sunak out of the news.
fuck that blonde wigged cunt
FUCK THE TORYS!!!
Happy he’s supporting Ukraine so strongly. Not happy he’s a fucking criminal who gets away with law breaking.
Pretending he’s Churchill when he’ll forever be a Neville Chamberlain
“what is your favourite biscuit?”
People on this sub need some perspective. He is, whether we like it or not, our Prime Minister. He is in Ukraine speaking to Zelenskyy as our representative, and as head of a government which has provided Ukraine with a substantial amount of military aid. This is more than party politics – it is about helping the Ukrainian nation in its time of need.
Literally the one half decent thing Boris has ever done. Still a massive twat though.
If Boris could figure out some way to keep Russian money flowing in to go to him and his mates he’d do it in a heart beat. This is just him doing a photo op.
Poor, poor Zelensky.
They shooting a podcast or something?
Poor fuckers, aren’t they going through enough? Can’t we send him to Russia to punish Putin?
A comedian and former comedian meet to discuss war.
Some of the comments here are genuinely disgusting and I think wrote by people who aren’t old enough to be on Reddit.
Can you stop the whatabouterry or “he’s only doing it for a photo op or to distract from sunak.”
Or “look at all these things he’s done wrong”.
We are all painfully aware of that but the question is, is what boris’s doing right now the right thing and quite brave? Yes it is. This is what we would all like prime ministers to behave like, it’s not asking you to excuse other behaviour it’s asking you to have some damn respect and notice when someone does something good. He is out there representing us all and has shown our support for Ukraine! This is what prime ministers should do.
This guy has no risk in going there. As if Putin would want his army anywhere near the leader of a NATO country.
Boris is doing this purely for his own self here. The bare minimum of a self-centred man. I wish people would stop praising politicians like this for doing the most basic no-risk actions. It doesn’t help anyone, if Ukrainians want a British prime minister to look up to then good god they don’t need Boris Johnson, what a terrible example.
Disappointed but not surprised by the widespread criticism here. Criticism of Boris and the Tories is much more meaningful when its justified. Criticising him for doing something most of us agree is the right thing and other European leaders have been commended for is ridiculous. He’s a bellend but that doesnt mean we shouldnt acknowledge the few things he gets right. A stopped clock and all that.
It seems important to Zelensky and Ukrianian people, they’re grateful for our support, so I’m glad he’s made the effort
he could parachute in, save 10 babies from under rubble, crack the fucking enigma code to win the war and reddit would still make it about party politics
Support Ukraine! Fuck Johnson!
“How do your people survive in such tragic conditions and with such scarcities. They seem so desperate no?”
“We’ll you know we reduced fuel tax by 5p so everyone should be ok now”
What if Boris has gone in as a spy and report back to Putin at tea time ? 😂
Am from Northern Ireland, and recent experience of BoJo during Brexit means a visit to your shores carries absolutely no consequence whatsoever. Nothing. He will lie to your face consistently and convincing so long as it removes a barrier for him, no matter how brief the advantage lasts.
I’m referring the reader to a visit to Belfast to sell NI the Border Protocol “fudge” to NI MPs to secure their vote and thus to implement Brexit. His Premiership depended on it. Brexit duly voted through on wave of unionist vanity: the whole NI protocol is clearly impractical, and clearly operating precisely opposite to his assurances. He doesn’t give a fuck. Utter indifference.
Brave to go to Ukraine; acknowledged. But not one MOTE of this initiative is for the benefit of Ukraine. He’s steering the UK front page away from the car crash utter fuckery of his domestic performance. It is Trump-like media management where one implausible action follows the last to leave the media bewildered and impotent.
Bloody hell we are a cynical bunch aren’t we.
What are those little computers they have infront of them?
Looking at the comments there is no hope for humanity.
Everyone just decides they think someone is either fully good, or fully bad, and then everything they do from that point is judged accordingly.
What’s wrong with disliking Boris and admitting this was a good move and that his handling of this situation has been generally good? What’s wrong with voting for Biden but admitting that Trump was probably a better negotiator? Literally every person on earth is a mixed bag, they do some stuff really well, and others really poorly.

Zelenskyy just called Johnson principled in an instagram post https://www.instagram.com/p/CcIoVvMoond
