  1. Good thing he was in the right place at the right time. I lost my cousin to a TBI like that if your helmet breaks you are gone that's why we need more protection to cyclist, skateboarders, or anybody who is moving at high speeds.

  2. First… Awesome Reporter!
    Now…
The cyclist instead of the runner was hurt. The cyclist helmet cracked from flipping over and landing. The runner must have been a brick house.

  3. Christian Piekos of ABC 7 Chicago news did a great job of jumping into action and helped out with the situation! Bless his heart ❤️!

  4. I’m quite glad that he doing the right thing and doesn’t get fired for the sake of it.

I’ve seen countless of times when people just doing the right thing with other people but still getting fired for not doing their job despite doing the right thing

Now before this turn sour when I said “Doing the right thing” I mean morally right thing. Not WOKE.

  5. 1 minute and 5 seconds.. only 10 seconds of the video is actually informational.. classic news move..

  6. To anyone downplaying this as not a “real” emergency, my husband nearly died in a bicycle accident where he went over the handlebars. (He broke some bones so bad they had to do surgery to fuse him back together.) One of his friends went over his front handlebars & his head hit a tree (cracking his helmet like this guy) & doctors said he was lucky to be alive.

  7. Think of how exciting it could have been if they still sent out full crews instead of having the reporter set up his own shots. They used to go out with three or four people: the Reporter, a Camera Operator, a Director, and possibly a Sound Recording Specialist with a boom mic. Now the on-air person has to do it all.
