We get it, you don’t want anyone to know you have a porn problem
*Uk government be like* : Stop touching your dirty dan!
The one website all I had to do was create an account and then authenticate with a 5 digit code sent to my phone, no id, no photo, so they didn’t actually verify my age.
The poor wives who are about to realise what the hub was keeping them away from.
I don’t see the issue. Why would sending our details, like our passports and driving licences, to a foreign country cause any sort of future problems? There is absolutely 100% no downside to doing this.
I lied about my age (I am an adult anyway) and covered my face with my hand so it worked.
So this solves nothing. Kids could do exactly the same. So what is even the point? I am glad it doesn’t work, but still
Use Opera……
… Reddit never been asking no questions.
I mean you can just use Opera for all the naughty bits of the internet.
This law is already being used to silence dissent. Videos of recent disturbances in the UK have been flagged as ‘adult only’ so that they cannot be seen without verification.
Yeah I thought this group would go quite once I bring up a valid point.
You are all complaining about your rights when this is all about children’s safety.
We already live in a country where we go to great lengths to protect our children from what they shouldn’t see on television but yet none of you complain about that. None of you think for one moment that yes this is probably not the best course of action BUT what other choices do we have as responsible adults when we are talking about a space that’s international?
Why allow our children to see what they want when they want online but NOT on television. Why protect children from what they shouldn’t hear on radio but not the internet?
To the people saying ‘I’ve got nothing to hide so nothing to fear’ or words to that effect, please remember you are quoting a nazi (Joseph Goebbels) and missing the point.
It does not matter if your data isn’t ‘questionable’. It’s the judgement of whoever wants that data and their motivations to use it against you. This has not historically been used as a good thing. Privacy is a human right for a reason.
