Ukrainian Defense Forces have eliminated Colonel Lebedev, commander of the Russian 83rd Motorized Rifle Regiment, during combat operations in the Kharkiv region.

According to a report by the Operational-Strategic Grouping of Troops “Khortytsia,” the strike took place near the village of Milove on the Velykoburlutske axis.

The 83rd Regiment is part of the 69th Motorized Rifle Division of the Russian Ground Forces and has been actively involved in recent offensive operations in northeastern Ukraine. Ukrainian officials say Lebedev was directly commanding Russian assault actions in the area at the time of the strike.

The settlement of Milove, located near the Russian border in Kharkiv region, has seen an increase in military activity in recent days. According to the open-source intelligence platform DeepState, Ukrainian forces are reportedly operating in close proximity to the settlement.

Ukrainian military sources suggest that the elimination of a regimental commander may disrupt command and control structures within the unit and reduce the effectiveness of further Russian operations in the region.

Earlier, on May 28, Major Zaur Gurtziyev—a Russian officer linked to the Mariupol airstrikes and deputy head of Stavropol’s city administration—was killed in a grenade attack while drinking outside a residential building.

Gurtziyev had been credited by Russian sources with enhancing missile targeting systems during the invasion.
