I opened my curtain today and found the inner glass window having major thermal crack.

I own the apartment. So might I ask if this is covered by Hoitovastike maintenance?

  2. There’s a thing called “vastuunjakotaulukko”. It shows what the owner is responsible for and what the “taloyhtiö” is responsible for.

    There are more sources that show this. Also, there may be individual, different rules in some houses. According to this source, you’d be in charge for getting the inner window fixed. Still, I would ask the taloyhtiö/isännöitsijä first. How old are the windows? Maybe there’s still a warranty valid for the installation or material.

    Maybe your taloyhtiö/isännöitsijä thinks that it’s not your fault and should be fixed by them anyway.

    So, the first phone call would be your isännöitsijä. They should know.

  3. It is on you but home insurance will pay some of it.  Depends where you live the fix will be like 300-400 eur.

  4. Usually not as others have stated but it might be covered by your home insurance.
