He got popular by giving out money hand over fist, largely to people who didn’t realise what would happen when that money needed accounted for and clawed back.
Now that the penny has dropped and folk are starting to realise the long term pain that ‘generosity’ has resulted in – he is popular with no one.
I wonder if the obvious briefing against him will now stop, or if the plan is to continue until he’s forced to resign.
There have been a few stories about him blocking spending – so it may be that not only are Johnson’s allies looking to eliminate him as competition, they’re looking to replace him entirely.
So… Cost of living rises, residents upset, Rishi’s getting the axe, CON+9?
Probably helps that they’ve been pushing the angle that he’s not “one of us” . Wife non dom, US green card, they’re doing everything they can to other him. We only elect extremely British -slash-aristocratic screw ups, thank you

Come on then let’s go storm number 10 and parliament, drag them out from where they hide and Chuck them to the public, see what happens. We need to take back power of this country, a government that’s genuine about our people, for the people. We just sit back and take it though like we always do.

And he’ll be replaced with someone who makes no effort to actually try and make beneficial or popular decisions. They’ll just wipe their hands and claim the issues have been resolved wit his exit.
He will just have to be content with being a multi-millionaire then, how sad for him. Sunak is not Johnson and is not solely set on becoming PM because he thinks it is his divine right, he will be fine leaving politics behind, becoming richer through the public sector and using the contacts he has forged while in politics to keep some influence for a few more years.
