Vadim Cretu brought Moldova its first medal at the European Paralympic Youth Games (EPYG), winning the bronze medal in the 73 kg weight category, IPN reports.

Moldova was represented at the EPYG by four Paralympic athletes, all competing in para judo. In addition to Vadim Cretu, Simion Bondarenco (62 kg), Anatol Bulat (90 kg) and Anastasia Cusnir (46 kg) also participated.

Around 700 athletes from 31 European countries took part in this year’s European Paralympic Youth Games. The competition took place in Istanbul, Turkey.
