Hi Poland. Found this in a thriftstore-book in finland. Anyone know the history about it? Chatgpt suggested a form of art/ political protest etc.

  1. ChatGPT is a moron.

This is a 100 zł bill from Polish People’s Republic, issued between 1975 and 1988. The other side will have the issue year. See example: https://foto.wcn.pl/sklep/full/314625.jpg

    It’s essentially worthless.

EDIT: corrected myself here – this is a pre-denomination bill, so zł / PLZ is the correct symbol

  2. Standard banknote from communist Poland, they were in use until the denomination in 1995. When introduced, this note had some value, but due to inflation with time its value became negligible – it could be exchanged to 1 grosz (0,01 PLN in today’s money).

  3. This is a 100 zł note from Polish People’s Republic, featuring Ludwik Waryński, Polish socialist (on the other sjde), and the front page of a bulletin of his party – the first socialist party in Poland named Proletariat
