Went to see the women’s euro cup final in Glacis today, was hoping for a big party like last year with men’s football. Unfortunately it was almost empty, even if the investment in security (a lot of staff), dj, bar, toilets and food was massive. Is sad to see that an interesting event was not a success.

  1. Damn actually sad but to be honest didn’t even know about it somehow

  2. *Gestures at the grey sky, the wet ground and the pools of water left behind from the last torrential rainfall*

Also: Blame UEFA for not promoting the event as much as the men’s tournament.

  3. I had planned to go. It was the weather forecast which stopped us making the 45 minute trip into town.
We watched at home. Super great game !

  4. Bad weather and they could have done a better job on marketing the event

  5. I was there for the first half and there were maybe 80 people there. Your photo looks like it was taken right at kickoff? Because it started raining at like 18:02 and it didn’t stop for the next 2 hours. Attendance was bad and the weather made it a lot worse, we left at halftime because it was cold and the rain wasn’t letting up.

The organization seemed good, plenty of beer/crémant stands, food, toilets. Could have used something for the rain though, there was minimal protection, and also nowhere to sit whatsoever, even for people eating.
