(CNN) – The U.S. reportedly now has a signed agreement with Qatar outlining the terms of the Boeing jet it is giving the Pentagon.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and his Qatari counterpart signed the agreement, according to a copy of the memorandum of understanding reviewed by CNN.
The agreement says the plane is an ‘unconditional donation’ and that the U.S. will not be paying for it.
The plane is expected to be used by President Donald Trump as Air Force One once it is upgraded.
Air Force Secretary Troy Meink told a House committee last month that it would probably cost less than $400 million to retrofit the jet.
The memorandum could still be changed ahead of a formal announcement.
