Eyewitnesses said that police conducted operations in and near the Skrīveri ice cream shop and that even armed police officers, both in uniform and in civilian clothes, were involved.
The State Police confirmed to LTV that the procedural actions, including searches, were carried out in Aizkraukle region, where Skrīveri is located. This occurred within the framework of a previously initiated criminal proceeding, but the State Police did not provide further information.
In turn, Lelde Sotniece, the manager of the family business “Skrīveru mājas saldējums” (Skrīveri homemade ice cream), who was contacted by Latvian Television, refused to comment.
