  1. To this day, Italians try to imitate Jesus by waving their hands while speaking to turn water into wine at their meals.

  2. if i pretend i didn’t notice what sub this was,

    1. no

    2. he would have at best been ROMAN, Italia was still a specific geographic location. But Roman citizenship was not something that you got just by being born in the roman empire. You either were born from a citizen, or you could buy the citizenship, or you could earn it by fighting.

i’m all for making fun of of inferior foreign culture, but please you do not fuck with the roman empire.

  3. Huh, so every Indian and Nigerian above a certain age is British.

Also, funny. I assumed he was going to say that the narrative he was born in Bethlehem was retconned/shoehorned in to satisfy the prophecy, with an extremely contrived and implausible story of a census based on ancestral origin – unattested by the quite detailed Romans – with Joseph choosing to go back a somehow weirdly well-recorded millennium of family history…. when every other inconvenient indication is that he was just a Galilean, like so many other claimed Messiahs of the time. The Gospel doth protest too much, etc.

  4. Trying to argue that a person from over 2000 years who was born on a piece of land that exchanged hands a hundred times since belongs to your people is dumb.

  5. Uff so now we are here, the Gazaoids claiming Jesus was an Arab?

  6. Nah, Jesus was clearly born on the 4th July 1776 in the United States of America. Anything before that is clearly irrelevant. What is this Palestine thing and can I eat it?

  7. So that makes him ~~Roman~~ German then? Romans never heard about Italy, but the HRE would like a word.

  8. Italy was founded in the 1860s if Jesus was Italian then so is Barry.

  9. I’m sending this to my ‘we Christians from Kerala were converted by the apostle Thomas before Europe even knew anything about it’ partner. 😂

I’m not Christian myself. I *am* Italian, though, and this will burn his arse. 😂

Edit: yes I know it’s not real
