I worked in the trade up to 4 years ago. There was some shitboxes being brought in then. I’m only surprised it’s taking prime time time so long.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve no problem with damaged repaired cars.
There were some very dodgy immoral people in the trade.
These people will advertise cars as private sale on donedeal so as not to put it through the forecourt if they know it’s going to be trouble, that way not recourse for buyer.
It sickens me that that databases of car histories are monetised as a history check choosing €20 – 30 is offputting to many people.
FFS over what period???? In total? so 40K out of the 1.9m currently registered? That’s only 2% hardly something to be worried about. Or is it 40k out of the 457k over the last four years? Maybe 40k from the 83k from 2021.
And how many of that 40k were CatD? basically cosmetics damage
