July the 28th, 2025 – Incredible news for business as the well known German giant Siemens AG approved a massive 80 million euros of investment in Croatian production capacities.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, this past week, the Board of Directors of Siemens Energy AG came to an official decision to approve 80 million euros in an investment in the expansion of Croatian production capacities. It will do so in close cooperation with the domestic company Končar – Energetski transformatori, as reported by Jutarnji list.
As stated, this huge investment is worth just over 80 million euros, and the project named KPT2 is one of the largest global investments in the entire energy sector. Preparatory work has already begun at the site in Sesvetski Kraljevac, and Siemens AG will officially present this investment to the public at the beginning of this autumn.
The Siemens AG decision to invest in excess of 80 million euros in Croatian production facilities otherwise represents a continuation and strengthening of a new joint venture between Siemens Energy and Končar Elektroindustrija
It follows the conclusion of a new joint venture agreement between the pair last summer for the construction of a new transformer boiler factory. The aforementioned cooperation primarily achieves a comprehensive exchange of knowledge and experience. What is highly significant for Croatia is that it naturally involves the creation of new jobs and the creation of opportunities for learning, training and jointly overcoming technological and market barriers, which also play a key role.
This is one of Siemens’ largest strategic investments in Croatia, which will be financed entirely from its own resources.
The energy giant’s final decision to invest in Croatia was also commented on by Economy Minister Ante Šušnjar. “This is yet another indicator that the investment climate in Croatia is significantly better today than it historically has been, in fact, I’d say it’s now better than ever before. Many investors are now investing money in Croatia, and some entities located in countries in the immediate region are considering moving their entire production and headquarters to Croatia, in order to conduct almost all of their business operations here,” he concluded.
