Slovenia’s naturalized center Josh Nebo won’t join the national team in the EuroBasket, coach Aleksander Sekulic announced.
Nebo was named to the preliminary roster ahead of the EuroBasket and was planned to represent Slovenia for a second straight summer after the 2024 Olympic Games Qualifiers. He now becomes the second major absence of the national team after forward Vlatko Cancar, his new teammate at Olimpia Milano.
In 2024-25, Nebo suffered multiple injuries and participated in just four EuroLeague games during his debut season with Milano. The American big man had a groin injury in October and then suffered a tendon injury in the upper part of his right arm in November. In the beginning of the Italian League playoffs, he sustained an adductor strain.
