They’ve been conducting joint military excercises together since George W Bush was president, and are huge trading partners.
But they also largely don’t like each other and have adversely aligned interests. Neither wants to see the other grow and become more of a regional threat.
There relationship can change and adapt to needs for both countries, but I don’t see a real friendship or alliance developing in the short or medium term
Foreign policy is quite click bait-ey in nature…not 🚫 to be paid attention to
India is such a lost opportunity. We have better relationships with authoritarian regimes than this constitutional democracy.
I say lost opportunity because they are strong, skilled and they are close to three choke points.
