I mean, yeah we have invested in young women for decades now.
We have systematically neglected men.
Not any different in the way in which say Asians are benefited over non-asian minorities.
This is what happens when you boost one segment of the population… they get richer than the other parts of the population. If you want men to do better economically then you need to invest in men.
It’s fascinating how this is happening in a society that’s allegedly totally misogynistic and views women as sex objects. It’s almost like it’s not true, and most people are open to the best person for the job and a smaller number, believe that we should have all women’s lists, etc.
Edit: have to laugh that even when the data confirms
That women are doing well simply saying this gets the rabble down voting
This can have potentially extremely bad ramifications for social cohesion and security in society. Young men, especially ones with nothing to look forward to, nothing to want and that are left behind tend towards violent behavior, drug abuse and organized crime.
Womeeeeeen noooooooooo
Sincerely, a man.
And perhaps a few words from our sponsor: Kings & Generals, a game where you can LARP as either a political murderer or a military butcher.
Ok young men of the developed world, time to get your shit together and get it done.
Help out around the house. Do the laundry, the groceries, the cleaning. Wash that toilet.
Get a job.
Get an education.
Put your head down and get it done.
Put down the bong. Lay off the gaming and porn somewhat (I’m not a monster after all). Lay off the booze. And stop listening to that dumb ass Andrew Tate FFS.
Be worthy.
It’s just that simple.
Work hard in school. It’s important. No ignorant know nothing is going get very far in life (especially with the ladies who know more than you about everything and won’t put up with your ignorant stupidity as much you’d like to think they will).
This is reality.
Deal with it.
I find it to be less of a battle of the sexes and more that modern society prefers women’s temperament over men’s. Women statistically are less violent, less rebellious and more agreeable than men are, and thus makes them a more reliable white collar or service worker that can also be paid less without them complaining.
Education has also morphed into women’s favor because they’re more convenient to manage than boys. Today children sit in a classroom for hours at a time listening to teachers with less and less recess or physical activity over time. Boys can’t stand it while women are apt at it, and to combat it boys are sometimes given ADHD medication to focus.
All put together, women are getting ahead because they’re more useful peasants than their more rambunctious counterparts.
there is an alarming gender divide happening and it’s bad, because now it’ll create even more resentment, resentment turns into hate, and as we can see, hateful behaviors are rising, people are becoming more heartless, more selfish, leaning more into extremism, blaming everyone for their issues etc
So much divide. Race, country, gender, economic, political, they want this. They want us to stop having real connections with humans so we won’t protest or fight back. We will have house robots with grok or whatever other nazi code Cuckerberg has cooked up installed in them as our only friends. They will make us scared of everything and everyone, so we spend more time online and in our little fear based outrage bubbles.
Why isn’t the title “Why are young men are falling behind?”
This frames it like women are pitted against men or that women are failing to do something that they must do to help men.
Interesting takes from a _financial times_ piece that gives little to no research reference, just fiscal stats … with no reference.
Not to say this isn’t a thing on some level, but it’s color commentary and conjecture based on inference? Many things may contribute to this statistic, but this is a trash take that just digs at male insecurities.
“Young male support for populist rightwing parties is on the rise, particularly among those without jobs and degrees.”
🤡
And we still have people asking “how did Trump get elected”? “Why is far right on the rise in Europe”
Yeah, after a long history of being second class citizens, it is now a bad thing for women to be on parity or above. lol
>Young women are now not only more likely than men to be caring for family members, but also to be in work or full-time education
If men aren’t taking care of their families, then someone has to and no doubt, men who call doom and gloom when think it’s women hurting them rather than them not putting in the work. They’ll call education worthless while whining that other men aren’t getting educated (while they turn down their own education).
I can speak about things that I think are negatively impacting men in the US, but I would be interested if people in the rest of the world agree they see those issue impacting men.
Some things I would be curious about is in the same groups of men, what is their access to a social safety net (both financially and emotionally), how do they feel about school and work (are their common similarities?), what are their hobbies, and what does their social media consumption look like. What does the level of physical activity between girls and boys in school do in relationship to their success? How much time do boys and girls spend on average on school related activities in relationship to their performance? How much time do boys spend distracted on school work?
I would hazard a guess that modern education does not take boys/men’s need for physical movement and learning through experiences into account. I suspect their are also other issues such as women having access to initiatives to bring more women into roles or educational programs that men do not have access to. I also would hazard a guess there is a social media/video game based contributing factor.
But that’s obviously speculation.
This has been a trend for several years now so it’s not really new, but still important to understand. Western society has spent tremendous social resources on building up women, now let’s build up men & women together.
> Men’s education deficit is increasingly becoming an employment, earnings and outcomes gap, with significant repercussions
> Across the developed world, girls and young women have been pulling ahead of boys and young men in education **for several decades,** with much larger proportions going on to attend university than their male counterparts.
For decades, the alarm was raised about the education system failing young boys at a disproportionate rate, yet absolutely nothing was done, all fundings and staff were made available to increase women in STEM.
The reason given was that the pay gap of the boomers, two generations away, was still in effect, so the boys born in the 2000s needed to be sacrificed to swing the pendulum the other way.
> Much less appreciated than the widening tertiary education gap is the fact that in several rich countries young women are now more likely to be in work than young men.
> Perhaps most striking of all, 2022 was the first time the average young woman in the UK had a higher income than her male counterpart.
> This is due in large part to women becoming so much more likely to have a degree and the graduate salary that comes with it, but also to the deteriorating fortunes of non-graduate men, who have gone from earning 57 per cent more than non-graduate women in 1991, to 10 per cent less in 2022.
Yet the narrative that the pay gap hasn’t changed at all is still repeated, despite all metrics showing it down to less than 5%, after years of pay differences being made illegal.
Once more, we find organizations that were supposed to fight for equality, skipping over the factors influencing the revenues of people:
– pretending to not see all the non-graduate men in precarious, poorly paid jobs,
– pretending to not see that men are formated to dedicate a lot more hours to their job, because of society evaluating their worth on their revenues, resulting in more pay, more promotion, but a worse quality of life where they don’t have a social life and time with their kids,
– pretending to not see that men die significantly earlier than women, 5.7 years in Europe, 6 years in the US, resulting in men contributing more to welfare systems and pensions (through taxes on their revenues) than women, then costing less as they’re dying earlier,
All these factors would paint a much more accurate picture of the situation, and very likely show that non-graduate men and women are the most vulnerable to being underpaid, so resources should be dedicated to helping people who didn’t get a degree.
…
The same analysis would have to be applied to jobs in the _care_ sector, healthcare-social-education, where the issue is not women being underpaid, but care workers being underpaid _and_ societal formatting sending mpre women into care jobs.
The key difference here is that focusing solely on men/women pays, means only the top tier white collar women will be able to afford lawsuits, while all the care workers, men and women, will be stuck with their meager pay.
If the focus was placed on better paying teachers, nurses, social workers, then not only women _in need_ would benefit from it, but also the men in need – and more men would join the care sector, knowing that they would be able to earn a pay that would be deemed enough ‘for a man’.
