Seems like it’s more the suspected friendship with Putler than “democracy” to be the reason.
US is an oligarchy, not a democracy. So who cares..

I don’t like the fact that we are in the same club as Belarus, Turkey and Russia but I do not mind the lack of the invitation either. Not being an orban bootlicker but neither this “US good guys who export freedom to make the world a better place” fan either. Most likely it will be a conference with great words and no action anyway.
Well…. You only need to buy LNG and F-35 aircrafts to be invited by USA…. Hungary should follow Polish path and they will recive invitation without a problem.
He also invited Iraq when it just went through an election with barely 40% participation. If Orban was anti-russia and not so pro-russia as he is he would certainly be invited.
We cannot re-fuel our small jets twice in a month, it’s very expensive.
I assume Iraq is invited because the US wants to show off the success story of their democracy export.
Oh no… what will we do without the mighty omniscient USA lecturing us about our own business 😧😧😧
Tbh it’s weird that a country like Pakistan is invited, but Hungary isn’t.
Even on EU level, Poland is technically less democratic than Hungary. A country’s constitutional court is the most important line of defence against an authoritarian government. The Polish government crossed the line, EU is punishing it for it, and they’re still invited.
As the article suggests, it’s clear that this isn’t all about democracy.
So lukashenko now have new fellow?
Who Gives a Shit.
That summit is a farce not worth mentioning.
A pointless meet and greet among allies.
The fact it’s being hosted by one of the least democratic countries among democracies is also just laughable.
A nation with a 2 party system that continuously ensures only candidates of their choosing get on the final balet, while both are under complete control of corporate interests… hosts a “summit for Democracy”.. what a monumental Joke..
A summit for democracy hosted by the usa has no value
Edit: loooooooooooooool, they invited their cute little puppet, Iraq
yeah that’s probably the reason. That’s why Iraq got invited of course.
Poor Biden. If he would figure out that US is less democratic than Hungary, and on top of that they are one of the major aggressors of the world..
That doesn’t mean I support the Hungarian government, but Biden should wake up.
Orban was talking shit about Biden so it makes sense.
It isn’t about democracy, it’s about personal beef. Biden and the Democrats have a strong dislike for Orban for reasons more to do with the culture war, rather than democracy. Also, Orban has very publicly and proudly aligned himself with Trump in a way no other European leader has. He recently did interviews with Tucker Carlson and Fox News, so Biden now sees him as advocating for his political enemies within America’s internal politics.
Good.
But Irak was, LMAO!!! its so democratic right?
You can’t sit with us!
A kurva anyat neki!
We’re not really democratic when the ruling party owns 90% of the media.
