The Acting First Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, together with the Governor of the Central Bank of Kosovo, Ahmet Ismaili, received in a meeting the member of the Executive Board of the Deutsche Bundesbank, Burkhard Balz, and his team.
According to a press release during the meeting, Balz congratulated the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo for the sustainable progress in the macroeconomic and financial sector.
“For his part, Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi informed him about the achievements and positive assessments received for Kosovo by the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. Further, the close and fruitful cooperation between the Bundesbank and the Central Bank of Kosovo was discussed, including the support that this German bank has provided in building and strengthening the institutional capacities of the CBK. Also, further support for the CBK’s membership processes in international financial institutions was discussed, as well as recent developments in the field of digital projects and financial innovation,” the announcement states.
Further, as stated in the announcement, Bislimi reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting the Central Bank of Kosovo in the service of further deepening cooperation with international partners such as the Bundesbank.
“During this meeting, Mr. Balz was also informed about the intensive work that our institutions have carried out regarding SEPA membership, so that Kosovo can become part of this mechanism like other countries in the region, but which is currently stalled due to the opposition sending several laws to the Constitutional Court,” the announcement states, among other things. /Telegraph/
