HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (WBTV) – A natural gas leak shut down a road in Huntersville Tuesday morning, according to officials.
The leak was reported around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, along Mayes Road near Old Statesville Road.
Cornelius-Lemley Fire Rescue officials said crews controlled the leak at 10:25 a.m. but urged those in the area to continue using caution as operation efforts continued.

There was no estimated time for when the roadway would completely reopen.
