That’s cool, I wish it had more countries! I am not surprised but the US, Russia and UK having big differences, but I’m curious about how it relates to say Finland, Latvia or Portugal.
“Trust me, guys!! I just went vegan, I am doing my part!!” says the uppermiddleclass hipster, who takes 2 flights per month, drives a car and impulsivelly orders useless consumer goods that they use 2-3 times, before they just throw them in a corner and forget about them.
10% is not enough for developing countries like China and India as 10% is still very poor. It should be 1%.
I wonder about the personal consumption of the attendees to the recent climate conference. Probably it would blow out this chart.
Just a reminder that if everyone consumed as much as US. We would need 2.5 earths to have resources for all of it.
Consumption is often overlooked when talking about reasons for high emissions, particularly for the US. It’s absolutely insane how the average American can have twice the household expenditure as other countries that are better off in quality of life. Most of us others probably can’t even comprehend that type of lifestyle
This anti-immigration propaganda out of here! /s
I’m guessing US, CA, UK being distinguished is because very flat city planning. Very high percentage of individiual homes and suburbia leading to excessive car use. It was an enlightment moment for me when i figured out how cars are inevitable in the US.
WTF is ‘household lifestyle consumption’? What’s excluded? Healthcare? Education?

What would be an ideal number?
