  1. Walked down capel street at about 4, thinking to myself how cool the place was with loads sitting out on benches drinking coffees etc. people from all over the globe . Hope the Garda is ok and recovers

  2. “A member of Gardai got stabbed and attacked just after 18:00 pm in an unprovoked incident on Capel st.”

Country has really gone to the dogs.

  3. This, the poor man in tallaght, and the other video of the poor Indian man getting his head beat on a bus by a little scumbag, what is happening?

  4. That’s going to be a record breaking suspended sentence.

  5. Responding to a man on the street with a large kitchen knife.. Dublin is in serious trouble lately with all of these random attacks

  6. What a fucking kip. Between this and the attacks on foreigners, Dublin is a having its day in the sun.

  7. > The incident took place on Capel Street just after 6pm

    What the actual fuck.

  8. That is awful for the garda I wish them a speedy recovery. There’s people meanwhile praying the perpetrator is foreign. Extra bonus if darker skin tone.

  9. And of course there’s some jobsworth prick trying to interfere with the gardai as they restrain the stabber

  10. I love it the way Sinn Fein condemn attacks on Gardai, yet glorify the Garda killers of the past.

  11. Capel Street is one of the only streets in town I hate walking on. It just always feels like something is going to kick off.

Edit – I meant Talbot St!

  12. Something has change. Way too many unprovoked violent assaults in Dublin. Must be horrible being a Gard or foreigner in Dublin these days.

  13. Sure back in the 80s each Guard got stabbed twice a day. It’s always been like this.

  14. Capel Street is a dive I have to walk through it every day and something is always happening.

  15. “The man, who is an Irish citizen and born in Ireland, can be questioned for up to 24 hours”

It’s insane to me that in Ireland the news is obliged to include this sentence, because otherwise the racists would kick off again and burn down an abandoned hotel or paint factory or whatever. Ignorant servile scum

  16. I hope the Garda recovers soon … and I also hope that this brings more Gardai in town, and with a tougher approach to scumbags shenanigans, and that this doesn’t end up going the opposite way where a large chunk of the city becomes a lawless and forgotten shithole that Gardai are too afraid to set foot in.

  17. Well RTE says the man was born in Ireland and Irish citizen. Usual knuckle draggers claiming and paying it to be a migrant. Dog kicker Dwyer started spreading the same carefully using the word ‘allegedly’ !!

  18. Wasn’t there a mandatory sentence for knife-related offenses, for possession of a knife with intent to cause injury, trespassing with a knife, and producing a knife to intimidate, increased to seven years.

Assaulting a Garda carries a maximum prison sentence of 12 years

    So whats with:

*The man, who is an Irish citizen and born in Ireland, can be questioned for up to 24 hours*

Lock him up and throw away the keys, let’s check up on him in 15 years time

  19. Lads

We’re getting to a very dangerous place at present in Ireland

Guards get zero respect from some people.

There’s no fear there. I was petrified when I saw a guard growing up.

Not sure where we are going to end up here. Another riot me thinks…….

  20. Probs unpopular as I don’t like the law either, but it’s looking like we really need a 3 strike law in Ireland for violent crime… Well even just actual serious jail time for the first would be a start

  21. Just saw this covered on X … no wonder people are getting so radicalised, the amount propagandising of the situation rather than like “god that poor garda”

  22. Ye are such hypocrites on this sub it’s actually just sad

  23. This country is completely in the grips of male perpetuated violence. Something has to be done to clamp down on violent young men roaming the streets looking for trouble
