  1. And why exactly would Hamas listen?

Only way to get them out of power is by force and everyone clearly hate that

  2. Absolutely about time.

My (idealistic and unrealistic dream) is for Hamas to be deposed, the PLO to control both Gaza and the West Bank, AND for Israel to stop annexation of the West Bank and immediately halt the illegal settlements there.

For decades now, there have been regular stories of clashes between settlers and Palestinians in the West Bank, and Palestinians losing their lands there. This is not sustainable and if Israel doesn’t get it together they’re creating a ticking time bomb there. With settlements on the West Bank border it’s easy to incorporate them and do a land swap eventually, but with the deeper settlements, they’re just brewing trouble.

  3. Senior Hamas leaders live like royalty in Qatar.

Qatar also gave Trump a plane.

  4. It is fucking bizarre that all the Arab countries are correctly blaming Hamas & while England & France lick terrorist boots.

  5. Maybe Qatar should consider arresting the leaders living in luxury in Doha then. And stop using Al Jazeera as Muslim Fox News.

Maybe Egypt and Saudi should let some refugees in. A few hundred thousand women and their little kids aren’t a threat to their government.

Put some actions to those words.

  6. Finally! This is a much better message than the one france and england sent

  7. Finally, Gulf countries are applying pressure. Will Hamas bend their way? We’ll find out soon enough.

  8. So they’re saying Hamas, who has lost maybe 30k fighters, and still strong enough that the PA can’t dislodge them from Gaza, should willingly give up its weapons and go away?
How realistic is this? From a scale of zero to 1?

  9. I don’t trust that. Hamas is really cornered and pretending they are surrendering is the only viable option for them now. They could easy just slip up for media sake then rejoin into another group and keep doing what they do.

  10. Qatar?! So I guess they’ll stop giving asylum and protection to Hamas leaders, right? Right?

  11. IMO if the people of Palestine want to demonstrate they want piece this is non-negotiable.

  12. >The text also condemned the deadly October 7, 2023 attacks by Hamas against Israel, something the UN General Assembly has yet to do.

I can’t believe they haven’t done that until now. The UN is a worthless organization. Any idea why they are waking up to modern civilization? Is the US threatening them or something?

  13. It’s insane to me that countries like Britain and France are demanding Israel leave and let Hamas rule without even returning the hostages while countries supposedly hostile like Egypt and Qatar are demanding the opposite. With friends like these I guess.

  14. They are also supporting giving authority to PA, which Israel has explicitly rejected. Will they accept that now?

  15. Wow, sucks to be an American calling for Israel to surrender when even these three Muslim countries don’t. They are our ally, after all.

  16. That should have been their position 20 months ago

  17. Release the hostages, very simple. These are not POWs. They are kidnapped and tortured civilian hostages

  18. The leaders of Hamas are in Doha, maybe Qatar can do something about it

  19. We expect a culture to admit defeat that walks onto busses to blow themselves up.

The Palestinians lost, over and over yet they keep acting like they have a card to play. Give it up, there are winners and losers and the Palestinians are the losers. Surrender and hope for decent treatment, or keep fighting and losing.

  20. And yet the U.S. is extremely close allies with Saudi Arabia for whatever reason.

  21. It’s the only way to peace. Hamas can not keep ruling and Arab states need to voice this.

  22. Holy shit Qatar saying this is gigantic! Qatar hosts Hamas’ leaders. For Qatar to call on Hamas to step down is unfathomably good news!

  23. Good stuff, weird that these countries are the ones acting like grownups while Europe pitches a bitchfit about Israel existing

  24. Are these groups not the be enemy of hamas anyway? Hamas is supplied by Iran

  25. Maybe Hamas should also return the 50 people they kidnapped and still hold, even the ones they have already killed.

  26. And Hamas will just be replaced by another jihadist-type group.

What really needs to happen is for international support for these kinds of groups inside Gaza and the West Bank to disappear.

Even if skirmishes do break out, they’ll be in much smaller scale compared to what happened on Oct 7.

Other Muslim nations as well as Israel need to also step up and support education and economic efforts in Palestine to give people hope.

Drown out the voices of jihad because if you don’t do that, war will just be perpetual.
