Dario Saric spent eight turbulent seasons in the NBA, going from a starting five player to someone barely getting off the bench.
Last season with the Denver Nuggets, Saric had a minimal, almost invisible role. Although his arrival in Colorado suggested a different scenario, he ended up playing very little basketball. He appeared in just 16 games, starting only four of them. The 2025/26 season will see him begin a new chapter with the Sacramento Kings, where he hopes to earn a more meaningful role.
“I was in Sacramento, completed the medical, spoke with the coach and GM. I got positive feedback and hope to get minutes at the four and five positions. But in this world, you never know. I thought I’d play in Denver too, and there were games where I sat the entire time. It is what it is — I’ll give it my all for one more season, and I’m motivated for that,” Dario Saric told Večernje novosti.

NATIONAL TEAM
It’s no secret that the Croatian national team has been underperforming for over two decades. Despite having experienced and talented players, they didn’t even manage to qualify for the upcoming European Championship.
“After good pre-qualifiers and strong Olympic qualifiers, where we only lost the final game to Greece, it felt like we were growing as a team. Unfortunately, not everyone was available for those qualifiers — some guys played one game but missed the next — and that breaks the rhythm. It’s a shame.
We had one bad half, but that group was tough, especially with Cyprus qualifying automatically as hosts. We beat Bosnia and Herzegovina by 13 points in Zagreb — if it had been 15, maybe things would be different. It’s hard for me to say anything new. I’ve been here for 13 years, experienced everything from the highs to the lows. We’ll try again with the younger guys — maybe they’ll achieve something one day” – Sarić concluded.
