Supports Türkiye-Qatar $5B trade target

Qatar remains one of Türkiye’s most strategic economic partners in the Gulf region. As of May 2025, annual trade between the two countries totaled over $1.1 billion, while both countries have also set a medium-term trade goal of reaching $5 billion in annual volume.

By lifting tariffs on key Qatari exports, the Turkish government signals a continued commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in sectors such as energy, construction, chemicals, and industrial manufacturing.

The tariff exemptions are part of a broader strategy to improve regional economic integration and secure essential supply chains in critical sectors.
