Did de Standaard already change their title to something more neutral or something?
Right now, this is the title i see: Politieke onenigheid na Demirs’ weigering voor gascentrale in Vilvoorde
I still think she does the right thing. If the dossier is outside the rules, too bad. Adjust. It’s not because the politic i. This country is and has been so bad for 20+years, she needs to bend the rules. The fact that she gets the politics blame, just further proves it imo.
As a country that jas no resources, our objective should be to be more off grind. We should aim at each house to be self-reliant for it’s energy. As demand for power will only rise in the future, we will need to pay more and more with money we already don’t have.
Can’t we put more solar on farming land, as that needs to be cut down as well. Or more windmills inland?
We really need new nuclear reactors. Not Russian gas! We need independence in energy, not stupid politicians who clearly want to lick Putin’s feet and buy overpriced gas from him for whatever communist reason they may have.
Stop fossil fuel burning. It’s pointless to build gas burning buildings for generating electricity. That money should be spend in nuclear.
But yes who wants a nuclear reactor a few miles from his house? Exactly, nobody. I think there is enough sites where they could be built, but unfortunately always in proximity of inhabitants at some point.
