I need to talk about the varying prices of hot wraps from delis. Paid £5.50 today at a Centra for a wrap containing chicken, cheese, lettuce and sweetcorn. Paid £7.29 for the same wrap at a different Centra. Full disclosure, I hid the more expensive wrap behind a box of reduced sugar aplen and walked out.

  1. Once the sandwich is in your hand that’s kind of a commitment to buy. Although £7.29 is a piss take.

  2. Did you get the included handjob before or after at that price???

  3. Well, that 7 quid wrap was best before five days ago, so I’d be wary of eating it.

  4. Friendly reminder that due to inflation £7 is £5 in 2015 money.

  5. Thanks for the level of specificity on the hiding place, really sells the scene

  6. I don’t understand people buying sandwiches and wraps that aren’t full of things that are a pain in the hole to make in your house.

Chicken, cheese, lettuce and sweetcorn? Was that it? You deserve to be made a mug for asking for that.

  7. I like that the use by date tells you the exact minute it becomes inedible. Useful to know.

  8. You went on the Internet today to tell strangers you littered in a shop and wasted food because you paid a few 20ps more than you would have preferred on some shite wrap.

So did you look to buy two of these today as well? Very depressing

  9. as someone who used to be a deli worker, those tills are a nightmare to figure out 😭 only lasted a month but it got to the point i was just adding random prices because i could not find the option to select what you want to buy & i was alone on tills with zero training

  10. I paid £6.79 for a wrap with the same ingredients (+ garlic mayo) at Chichester St Centra on Monday!

  11. Why is picturing someone discretely tucking their unwanted overpriced deli wrap behind a box of Alpen and walking away the funniest thing ever.

  12. It will be a while before it’s found behind the alpen. You slag 😂😂

  13. Last one my wife got there was a soggy mess so she had to bin it

  14. Centra is probably one of the most expensive places can get your hot deli food. Especially caus portions are awful and quality is bad too

  15. It’s absolutely mad. People queue out the door to pay these prices in Belfast city centre. Pretty sure some places are charging £2.50 for a 500ml bottle of Coke or similar too.

Shops are taking the piss. So are the likes of Subway. If Greggs can do a meal deal with a fresh baguette / sandwich and coffee for £4 wtf is the excuse for the prices elsewhere

  16. So like, you actually did not pay £7.29 for it at all? So what exactly is your problem?

  17. >I hid the more expensive wrap behind a box of reduced sugar alpen and walked out

    Why?
