A meeting of the working group on co-operation between Belarus and Yakutia (Russia) was held under the leadership of Belarus’ Economy Minister Yuri Chebotar and Andrei Fedotov, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) to the Russian President and First Deputy Chairman of the Sakha Republic Government, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian economic department’s press service
The event took place at the Great Stone Industrial Park and was attended by representatives of government bodies, organisations and the business community.
In his speech, Mr. Chebotar highlighted that co-operation between Belarus and Yakutia is advancing to a significantly higher level.
“One of the steps in this direction will be the opening of a branch of the Yakutia Railways in Belarus, which will lower logistics expenses and increase the flow of commodities. Since 2024, co-operative exchanges and business bridges organised by the National Agency for Investment and Privatisation and the Belarusian Fund for Financial Support of Entrepreneurs have been operating successfully. These serve as effective tools for finding new partners and fostering the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises. The Belarusian goods exhibition held in Neryungri in March this year attracted significant attention, demonstrating strong interest in our products. The goal is to supply these products directly, eliminating intermediaries,” Mr. Chebotar emphasised.
Belarus’ Economy Minister highlighted the expansion of mutual supplies, the strengthening of industrial co-operation and the growth of investments as key priorities for trade-economic interaction in the near future.
“We suggest boosting the delivery of MTZ tractors, AMKODOR loaders, BelAZ trucks, along with other machinery and equipment. Belarus is well recognised in the Russian market for its high-quality food products. We are ready to increase exports of food and other consumer goods to Yakutia. There is also potential to enhance exports of cable products and equipment to upgrade the region’s electric power system. Additionally, we are keen on advancing industrial co-operation and increasing reciprocal investments,” the Economy Minister asserted.
During the meeting, Belarus’ investment opportunities were presented to the Yakut colleagues.
