The Saudi-owned Al Arabiya channel reported Wednesday, citing an Israeli official, that “there are warnings that Iran-affiliated groups intend to carry out terrorist attacks from southern Syria.”
According to the official, negotiations are underway with Syria over the demilitarization of the country’s south, including the establishment of a timetable for implementation. He added that recent reports of additional Israeli incursions into southern Syria are false.

Meanwhile, Syrian sources told the UAE-based Aram News that Syria’s transitional government, headed by Ahmed al-Sharaa (al-Julani), is planning “extensive changes” across a wide range of positions, including several ministers. According to the sources, these planned changes could mark the beginning of a reform process within the new Syrian regime.

The same sources noted that the reforms are aimed at enhancing effectiveness during the transitional phase following the collapse of Bashar Assad’s regime in December. The current government, established in March and comprising 23 ministers, has faced criticism over the performance of several cabinet members, particularly in the economic sphere.
According to the sources, the reshuffle is meant to “correct some of the mistakes made in previous appointments and strengthen both internal and external trust.”
