Dear Hungarians!! I am making Csirke Paprikas for the first time!!

  1. It is currently simmering on low heat but it smells fucking delicious – gonna eat it soon with some steamed rice and salad.

    I live in Germany btw!

  2. Whoever gave you this recipe, they were lying to you.
Probably it still tastes good, but whatever you cooked would not pass for csirkepaprikás – at least not in Hungary.

  3. Huh, hol is kezdjem? Azota is basztatom azzal a kiheveretlen traumaval. Annyira ehes voltam, de azt nem lehetett megenni. Most emiatt a kep miatt ptsd-m lett.

  4. It looks a little bit more like ‘lecso’ which is one of my favorite, but looks good anyway, hope you like it. Try more hungarian recipes if you can, we have some pretty good food. And dont mind the rude comments, most of the people here would not be able to make breakfast for themselfes 🤷‍♂️good luck 🙏

  5. I can see where you were confused (probably), even we call it “paprikas”, you don’t put “paprika” (the vegetable) in it, you need to do it with paprika powder

  6. Don’t take anything in this tread too personally OP, the people are mocking the recipe not your cooking skills.

Here’s a decent enough English language tutorial if you want to try a more authentic version – [Binging with Babish | Chicken Paprikash from Captain America: Civil War](https://youtu.be/baG767jr8c8)

  7. Everyone’s being so negative i think it looks good. Maybe not the most csirke “paprikás-est” csirke paprikás ever but i’d 100% eat it

  8. Valakinek nincs kedve nokedlire rábaszni szeletelt paradicsomot és posztolni r/italy ra hogy spagettit főz?

  9. No,you dont. Looks like lecsó with chicken breast. First you have to make pörkölt alap. cut the onion paprika tomato add some fat or oil to the pot then first you add onion cook a few minutes then the paprika and tomatoes add salt pepper garlick then a generous amount of paprika powder cook for about 10 minutes and stir it a lot add little water to prevent burnt . Then you can add the chicken THIGHTS if you like you can add some wings too but the breast just too dry for this and the bones and the skin are important part of this meal. Add water not too much just to barely cover the thights then stir it well cook about 1,5-2 hours on low heat just dont forget to stir it sometimes when the sauce is getting thick and the meat come off from the bones easily turn off the heat then in the end add some sour creme personally i add it at serving. Best with Nokedli but good with any pasta.Enjoy your meal!

  10. It is lecsó mixed with csirke, less of a paprikás. But please don’t be mad to anyone or yourself. This is a high learning curve and there are a plenty of wrong recipes out there.

Keep going, it will be a delicious food, but not csirkepaprikás. 🙂

  11. Omg. How can everyone be so mean? Please be sure to post photos of the dishes of other countries you can cook perfectly. OP was enthusiastic about a Hungarian food, wanted to make it and show it to us. Why the hell is everyone so rude? This is something to be appreciated.
    Ps. it looks absolutely delecious.
