Erdogan: Turkey welcomes steps taken to recognize Palestinian state

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said today that he welcomes the recent steps taken to recognize the Palestinian state by France, Great Britain and other countries.
“We consider the recent humanitarian reactions from Europe, especially France and Great Britain, to be very valuable. We welcome every step taken towards recognizing the state of Palestine,” Erdogan said in Ankara, according to Reuters.
Erdogan said he called French President Emmanuel Macron to congratulate him on his decision to recognize the Palestinian state, adding that supporting a two-state solution would be the most effective way to oppose Israel’s policies.
