BODØ, Norway – On Thursday, Imani Jenkins (Middletown, Conn.) was signed to a professional soccer contract by FK Bodø/Glimt in the Toppserien the Top Division of Women’s Soccer in Norway.
Jenkins is the third signing of the summer for the Holy Yellows and is the teams fourth American on the squad.
“I have loved football since I was very young”, said Jenkins in her first interview with the club. “I grew up playing for some of the top clubs in my state. I went on to “college”, I like to score goals, I like to compete and win. In my last year of college I won three championships, so I really hope I carry that momentum forward into Glimt. I will give everything for this club.”
In her Hawk career Jenkins started 68 games scoring 80 goals with 34 assists and 18 game-winners. Imani is the program-record holder in career points (194), single-season points (82), career goals (80) and single-season goals (33). She also ranks second in program history in assists (34) behind Christina Stone.
In 2024, Jenkins started in all 20 of Hartford’s games in her graduate season, recording 1,566 minutes. Jenkins tallied 65 points on 27 goals and 11 assists to go with six game-winners in her final season. Imani would score her program-record 61st career goal on September 18th against Roger Williams. On October 9th, Jenkins would record her 152nd career point against UMass Dartmouth, breaking Jessica Reifer’s 29-year record. Jenkins earned Conference of New England (CNE) All-Conference First Team honors and was named CNE Offensive Player of the Year. She was later named 2024 Academic All-America First Team by College Sports Communicators. Imani was also named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region Team and earned United Soccer Coaches All-American and Scholar All-American Honors.
