  1. Feck food, used to buy candles , three quid a pop as of today. Randomly they are now 3.50.

I swear the Louch Ness Monster has just taken over.

NEver mind my refusal to spend more for less Pringles. it was hilarious when they would stack the old tubes beside the new smaller ones at the same price.

  2. Prices increase and product sizes are shrinking 🙃

  3. I’ve noticed lately everything on the shelves in supermarkets costs 3 euro. Bread, OJ, cold chicken, ham, cheese, sauces…. Everything is 3 euro.

  4. Rich in 2020: owns a house

Rich in 2025: has a roof over their head

Rich in 2030: has 3 meals a day (roof over head optional)

    Rich in 2035: ???

  5. Anybody want to explain the reasons here? It’s not energy costs.  They are down year over year.

  6. I dont get what basket of goods they use to come up with the food inflation figure but its not the same basket of goods I buy.

Like they are saying that food is up 4.6% in a year while Im seeing 20% increases in meat just this year alone and 10-15% on dairy. Only products I buy that have only suffered 4.6% inflation is bread products and fresh fruit & veg but theres even anomalies in those categories.

  7. Butter is now so expensive people will be wearing around their necks as a status symbol.

Seriously though, as a country we are one giant dairy farm with all the downsides that come with that surely home grown dairy products and meat should be affordable for everyone.

  8. I have to say that I can’t quite grasp that inflation over the last 12 months is only in the region of ~2%.

Maybe someone can convince me that the CPI is actually an accurate measure of household costs?

  9. Dress it up all you want they are ripping the hole out of the public

  10. If food. Something that everybody in the country pays for and consumes several times a day, doesn’t drive inflation statistics, what does?

  11. I’d normally head to Aldi but went to Supervalu as its nearer , I got a few bits, and it was 30 quid , like wtf.

  12. What have our politicians done to help well lets see there is:

    1 Carbon Tax

    2 Sugar Tax

    3 Minimum Pricing

4 lets not forget cheaper electricity for data centres subsidized by higher domestic bills

please feel free to add anything else you can think of I am sure there is more.

  13. None of our politicians are struggling, so it’s fine, don’t worry about it.
