New government figures reveal 46.4% of Luxembourg’s primary graduates will enter general secondary education this year, with classical streams receiving 40.6% of students.
On Friday, the Ministry of Education published data detailing the educational pathways of final-cycle primary students advancing to secondary education.
A total of 5,743 students will progress to secondary education this year, while 21 students will enter an “extended fourth cycle” programme.
According to the ministry’s figures, 46.4% of transitioning students have been assigned to general secondary education tracks, with 40.6% placed in classical secondary education programmes.
The ministry reported near-unanimous agreement between teachers and families, with 99.6% of cases showing aligned decisions regarding student placement.
