Flamingo Transworld has signed a special agreement with Tourism New Zealand to make visiting the island country simpler and more enjoyable. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), is expected to help more Indians travel to New Zealand, especially during times of the year when tourism is usually slower.
This partnership is meant to boost tourism between India and New Zealand by promoting the destination more strongly, offering customised travel experiences, and creating smoother ways to book trips.

This MoU was signed soon after New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon visited India. He came along with his Tourism Minister Louise Upston and top industry leaders. During his visit, he met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and spoke about how both countries share a special bond.
At a public event in New Delhi, Luxon said that both India and New Zealand had strong reasons to work closely together, especially in tourism. He also mentioned that the two countries have much to gain by strengthening their friendship and business ties.
Indian travellers are going abroad more than ever. In 2024 alone, over 80,000 Indians visited New Zealand; a jump of 23% compared to 2019.
A recent travel report showed that people from Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru are showing huge interest in visiting New Zealand. Around 43% of them even called it their top international destination.
Flamingo Transworld’s Managing Director, Sanjay Shah, shared that this partnership fits perfectly with their goal to give Indian travellers meaningful and exciting experiences across the world.
“New Zealand is a perfect match for Indians who enjoy nature, adventure, and warm hospitality,” he said. “With this collaboration, we’re excited to build unique journeys that go beyond the usual sightseeing trips.”

The new deal includes plans for better marketing, travel packages, and training for travel agents in India. One major goal is to help more Indians travel to New Zealand during its off-peak months from March to November. This period aligns with India’s summer holidays and important festivals like Diwali.
Angela Blair, General Manager at Tourism New Zealand, explained why this is important: “India is a very valuable market for us. By working with Flamingo, we hope to welcome more Indian visitors all year round, not just during peak seasons. We want them to connect deeply with our beautiful landscapes and unique culture.”
To take things further, Tourism New Zealand will host a major event in July 2025 called Kiwi Link India. It will be held in Goa and New Delhi and aims to bring together travel experts from both countries. The event will help create new ideas, spark business deals, and build stronger connections between the Indian and New Zealand travel sectors.
This partnership also plans to launch ready-made travel plans, simple online booking options, and personalised experiences that suit the interests of Indian tourists.
