  1. > Any link to Covid-19 vaccines has been ruled out, as the vast majority of children who have fallen ill were not vaccinated, according to the WHO.

Just to head the usual shite off

  2. Is it too soon to make jokes about the newest generation of kids drinking even earlier than the generation who were doing 12h on the coal face and 10pints in the pub back in the good old days…..? Ok too soon for dieing kids’ jokes, I will see myself out.

  3. Alongside and post the Flu Pandemic there was a lesser known outbreak of [Encephalitis lethargica](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Encephalitis_lethargica) which seemed to be a post Flu disease on people that had survived the Flu infection. It didn’t really start to become numerous until 1920 when cases really grew and it hasn’t appeared since the 20s.

Might not be Covid related at all as well, but there is a severe risk of very weird immune responses to pandemics that maim survivors some years later, we already know this is a possibility. I sure hope this isn’t the issue but liver hepatisis goes along with ME/CFS and so I can see the immediate link given what long covid has been doing to people of all ages. Or its another epidemic of some description and that would also be bad!

  4. My pet theory is adenovirus. Adenovirus made my kid ill for four weeks straight, before they pandemic, it can be a nasty but it also causes really mild colds. Then lockdown meant it wasn’t being passed around so a potent strain hit kids who hadn’t built up resistance.
Edit: I didn’t scroll far enough down the article, they actually mentioned this
