Ohio lifeguards rescue woman, 7-year-old boy from deep water stream
Yep. Lily 18-year-old Kaden Ross, manager of the Pascala pool, was on duty when he heard blood curdling screams coming from the nearby woods. At first, I thought it was just people playing. And then the scream started turning into like blood scream, like terrible scream. He and a few lifeguards sprinted down the hill. He hopped the fence and saw a woman struggling to keep her head above water. There’s a water hole down there about it’s probably 12 to 15 feet deep and I see her actively drowning. I jump in the water and I save the mother and I bring her to the log and then she tells me my boy’s under there. So when she tells me this, I look in the water and I do not see anyone. Another guy came and got pretty much got in the water with me. And as I’m saving the mom, I give her to one of my guards. He sees the little boy’s feet. Just the only thing we can see is his little feet kind of above the water. The seven-year-old boy was pulled from the water. I tried to determine if he was breathing. I gave him two rescue breaths and then I began doing CPR. As I was doing CPR, he started to, you know, he stuff started to come out of his mouth, which is usually a good sign. Kaden kept up the life-saving moves until the medics took over. I’ve never had a save like that now, and I don’t think I ever will. I mean, from having to It wasn’t even at our pool, you know, like we ran and had to get in a creek and that it was life or death situation. The 18-year-old says English was a barrier in this rescue. And with more international families moving into town, he says he hopes the pool can offer more swimming lessons in the future. On your side in Pascala, Terry Sullivan, ABC 6 News.
A 7-year-old boy is receiving treatment at a hospital after being rescued from a deep water stream near a pool in Pataskala.
The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. when lifeguards from the Pataskala Pool responded to distress calls from the nearby woods.
Kaden Ross, the 18-year-old manager of the Pataskala Pool, said he initially thought the screams were playful but quickly realized they were cries for help.
Ross and several lifeguards rushed down, jumping a fence to reach the stream about 150 yards away. They found a woman struggling to stay afloat in water estimated to be 12 to 15 feet deep.
“There’s a water hole down there, probably 12 to 15 feet deep, and I see her actively drowning,” Ross said.
” I saved the mother. I bring her to a log, and then she tells me my boy’s under there. So when she tells me this, I look in the water and I don’t see anyone. Another guy came and got into the water with me. As I am saving the mom, I give her to one of my guards. He sees the little boy’s feet. The only thing we can see are his little feet above the water.”
The boy was pulled from the water, and Ross administered CPR. “I tried to determine if he was breathing. I gave him two rescue breaths, and then I began CPR. As I was giving CPR, stuff started coming out of his mouth, which is usually a pretty good sign,” Ross said.
Ross continued life-saving efforts until medics arrived. “I’ve never had a save like that, and I don’t think I ever will. It wasn’t even at our pool. We ran and had to get in the creek, and it was a life or death situation.”

What a great hero thank you
The terror of being pulled out without her son. Finding him in time feels like a miracle. This young man is a true hero. As well as all the others who ran to help. They all helped make these rescues possible.
You will always remember the first time you had to use CPR to save someone’s life. I will never forget mine, or the first time doing the Abdominal Thrust on someone choking.
Non English speaking, international people, that's a new one!!
The kid is an absolute beast…..future police, medic, of firefighter. Nice work.
Risking your life for perfect strangers makes him a cut above the fray, God Bless.
Please think twice before entering a body of water especially with a child. Things can go sideways so quickly.

And he did REAL FULL BLOWN CPR which they don’t teach to civilians anymore. Good on you guys for knowing how to do rescue breathing CPR and going through with it. No Fear is how lives are saved. Your decorum and maturity will get you and the others who reacted far in life.

Such a wonderful thing that those very special youth ran when they heard the screams! May God richly bless them for their courage and wisdom in this rescue and for the daily work they do as lifeguards.
