I think they’d be flummoxed by the derry accent though.
I first heard the accent on “Shoresy” and possibly to a lesser extent “Letterkenny”. The resemblance is uncanny

It’s a real Midlands Irish accent. Doesn’t have the tone of the wesht or Munster.
For the record this guy plays it up quite a bit. Not many people in newfoundland around his age sound like that.
Yes, spot on. The regional differences are quite amazing, too. Father in law was from Cape Breton. I struggled to keep up at times. 🙂
Pretty sure they get a day off for St Patrick’s and 12th of July
Just spent the last week with a fella from newfoundland at work and enjoyed the visit a lot. First time I could talk at full speed in the US for a while.
