9. Stephan Miran is not just a mouthpiece for the administration. He is the MASTERMIND of Liberation Day. He published a book in 2024 that literally was adopted as the blue print for Trump’s tariff. To call him a tariff zealot would be short-changing him, because most economist who is for tariff at least acknowledge the downside of tariff. Not Miran, in his world, tariff absolutely has no cons. None. He has stake his reputation on it. There is no world where Stephen Miran would ever cede that tariff caused layoffs because his thesis clearly said this scenario is impossible.
