  1. So I take from this that whoever you vote for, none of them have ever had a child show them how easy it is to circumvent any kind of online verification.

I’d have thought some of them were married or something, you know. (/s, just in case)

Now, realistically, what are we supposed to do? Blockade the entirety of Brussels again?

  2. IMHO this will lead to a lot of problems. To verify your age you’ll have to give personal info, for international websites this will probably mean a credit card info… this could lead to a lot of scams and data leaks

Also they are mixing porn with child abuse, that’s not really normal

  3. This will push people to more shadier website who will ignore these regulations.

Why is every damm politician so incompetent when it comes to privacy and cybersecurity.

  4. You will downvote me but one day you will understand laws like these have nothing to do with protecting children and people and they are only and only about controlling the people. The ruling oligarchs cannot tolerate anonymity in the internet, they want to know who says what so they can have full control.

  5. And so it’s proven again only Wilmes has a set of brains

Vautmans probably only voted the right thing on accident or for money

  6. I totally get people’s concern with privacy issues. And this implementation seems a bit excessive but having a 12 year old stepson who is already totally addicted to the internet, this is somewhat of a relief. Its way to easy for kids these days to have access to endless videos of porn which is often a far cry from real life intimacy. I have no issues with content like that but I do think that we need extra barriers to make sure 8 year olds dont have easy access to endless gangbang vids. Mental health among young people these days isnt exactly thriving.

And yes there are always ways around it but the point is to make it less easy for kids to have access to such content.

  7. Any EU law needs to be ratified by the council and then unanimously by all member states and then implemented into national law. This is playing for the gallery.

  8. If it really was about protecting children the first step would be punishing pedos

  9. There’s also a vote which would kill the privacy of any chats in the name of protecting the children. :))))))
