Critics of the Trump administration will take to the streets across the US in multiple cities on Saturday. The “Rage Against the Regime” protests, organized by volunteers of the 50501 movement, are being held in response to what the group describes as a number of “threats” to democracy and human rights, according to reports.

Among these “threats,” organizers count the current administration’s “weaponization of ICE against our communities, construction of concentration camps, covering up of the Epstein Files, attacks on transgender rights, and its dismantling of Medicaid, SNAP, USAID, the Department of Education, NOAA, and the National Weather Service,” according to a 50501 press release. It is the same group that organised “No Kings” protest in June and “Good Trouble Lives On” last month.

Why are protests being held against Trump?”Rage against the Regime” is the latest nationwide protest against Donald Trump, organised by the 50501 group. More than 300 demonstrations are set to take place on August 2, according to the Rage Against the Regime website.

The “Rage against the Regime” protests take aim at several actions by the Trump administration, such as the handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files. The protest urges non-violence, with 50501 protesting against the alleged weaponization of ICE against communities, alleged construction of concentration camps (referring to Alligator Alcatraz), purported attacks on transgender rights, purported dismantling of Medicaid, SNAP (food stamps), USAID, the Department of Education, NOAA and the National Weather Service, among others.

“On this day, we come together to transform anger into action, harnessing the energy of collective resistance,” a section of the Rage Against the Regime’s website states. “Our movement is rooted in non-violence, but it is far from passive. We stand strong, bold and unyielding, showing the world the irresistible force of communities united against injustice.”

Hunter Dunn, 50501 National press coordinator, said in a statement: “The Trump administration’s heralding of American neo-fascism has given us plenty to rage about. When our so-called representative government builds concentration camps and funds genocide, it becomes clear that, as Tom Morello said: ‘Some of those that work forces are the same that burn crosses.'”Interestingly, the protests are being held on US Vice President JD Vance’s 41st birthday, reports USA Today. “Rage against the Regime” protests in these cities:Here’s a look at one event happening in every state where protests have been planned.
