This partnership follows the visit of New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon to India, where he met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Luxon, accompanied by Tourism Minister Louise Upston and key industry leaders, discussed strengthening the bilateral ties between the two countries, with tourism being a key area of focus. During his visit, Luxon highlighted the shared bond between India and New Zealand, emphasizing the immense potential in deepening their economic and tourism relations.

Targeting Off-Peak Tourism

The collaboration between Flamingo Transworld and Tourism New Zealand aims to increase Indian visits to New Zealand, particularly during the off-peak months from March to November. This time period coincides with India’s summer holidays and major festivals like Diwali, providing an opportunity to attract more Indian travelers to New Zealand during slower tourism periods.

Tourism New Zealand aims to make visiting the country easier and more accessible year-round for Indian travelers, not just during peak seasons. Angela Blair, General Manager at Tourism New Zealand, stressed that India is a valuable market, and with Flamingo’s help, the country hopes to increase the number of Indian visitors during the off-peak months, giving them the chance to immerse themselves in New Zealand’s unique culture and landscapes.

As part of this partnership, Flamingo Transworld and Tourism New Zealand will work together on better marketing initiatives, innovative travel packages, and enhanced training for Indian travel agents.
