  1. We need to see the actual comments to have any idea about whether the cause and effect are in proportion.

In a media world where calling for action against the IDF can be considered anti semitic by itself, it’s impossible to trust some reports without getting the verbatim original comments people are reacting to.

And also, I see a lot of people not being careful to use the right terms to make a clear distinction between Jewish people, who I have zero problem with and zero prejudices about, and innocent Israeli people, who I think have to accept their state needs to be stopped, and members and active supporters of the IDF, who to me are evil criminals.

If some ignorant refugee who grew up not knowing the difference between these three groups messes up and doesn’t make any distinction between them, then I’m all for insisting they use the right terminology as part of their deal with the state giving them refuge. But they have to be given a chance to get it right like anyone who messes up.

  2. One person’s opinion doesn’t speak for a nation.

Crazy France would punish 2 million people because of 1 persons words.

Pity they don’t do the same with Israels far right ministers that call for the killing of innocent people….

  3. Yeah, but France is totally ok with having IDF terrorists, baby killers in their unis, clubs, Olympics, TV channels, etc, and send bombs to Israel to kill Palestinians.
    Colonizers seldom change, do they?

  4. This is an incredibly feeble excuse. You might call it a “pretext”, even. I would expect something like this from my own country, but it’s disappointing to see actual free countries acting like this.

  5. checkout r/europe on this post, as an european its maddening to see what the majority of commentators are jumping on. The person in question did not get to comment on this, also her twitter profile got deleted and no one can check really what were the semantics. its crazy!

  6. As I understand it, it’s more of a pause while they put tighter vetting procedures into place and re-check the couple hundred people who’ve been given visas so far.

  7. A woman going full Elmo is a perfectly valid reason to:

    A. Deport her for hate speech

    B. Reevaluate the vetting process

Maybe read the tweets before you yell how unfair it is

  8. Clearly they were looking for a reason and theyre using this persons actions as an excuse.

You dont halt all evacuation because if somehting someone’s said otherwise. This is straight out of trumps playbook.

There is no justification for it.

  9. This has to be the most bullshit excuse to do genocidal back-door deals with Israel I’ve ever heard. Everyone expected the whole “state-recognition coming soon™” stuff to just be smoke and mirrors but holy shit, what a turnaround.

This is the kind of thing a Trump admin would do. We make a stand for keeping the Front National out of power and still, this is the kind of inhumane nonsense we get.

  10. This is a firm of collective punishment. France is using this as an excuse to commit genocidal backdoor deals with Israel. White IDF is Israelis are allowed to chant death to Arabs without consequence, some student is apparently enough to collectively punish a people and exempt them from asylum laws. This is discrimination.

  11. All this over one tiny little anti-Jew post? Ridiculous.

She could have stopped 14 Jewish babies in the face killing them and it still wouldn’t justify not saving the lives of these Palestinians desperate for safety. This is literally nothing to do with each other.

France is just being fucking racist. Again.
