PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) — After medical treatment took tolls on his business, the owner of “Symmetry Dance Wellness” sought support from the dance community.

“Turned out that I have a pre-cancerous cyst in my stomach and I was treated for it as if I had cancer because it was an aggressive way to stop it,” said owner, Kip Martin.

” I just completely was bedridden since October…I lost students. I lost time, I lost money. And so we’re having a fundraiser because we need to save the studio,” he continued.

Multiple performances took place to showcase the studio to community members and financially support the business.

“It’s really humbling. The impact that it has really makes me think a lot about what it is I do and how I do it,” said Martin.
