I’d suggest they probably have been investigating it for months but decided to go public so they can point to it and say “see!” that’s why you keep us around.
Also to add, 30% or less on top of the price is actually low for overspending in government procurement especially when it comes to military contracts which require you to ship in supplies from out of the country through a warzone. Wardogs provides an example of this in Afghanistan (obviously that’s a different situation). So while yes any is bad, I expect if we looked into our own government spending on contracts we’d find little difference. I suspect they deal with cases like this monthly.
