I’d be lying if I said I was never part of friend groups where we used to tell the Italians among us a separate, earlier, meeting time in the hope of them arriving roughly on the right intended time.

  1. Always remember that Italy is two different countries held together with duct tape. Northern Italians are pretty precise and get irritated by delays. If, on the other hand, you’ve ever dealt with a Sicilian, they will proudly tell you that arriving late is one of their traits. I remember booking a pizzeria exactly in front of the house of a sicilian friend (literally, he only had to cross the street), we waited 45 minutes for him.

  2. Who makes these? Just slop for Americans who think they’re cultured for knowing where Croatia is

  3. Wow that’s literally me right now. Will be more than 30min late though

**Edit:** currently 37 min late and haven’t even left the house

**Edit2:** I made it with 1h10min delay, not great not terrible

  4. 🇦🇹🇨🇭🇩🇪:

Leaves at 19:15 if their appointment isn’t there by then.

  5. The UK one literally happened recently to me and now I feel targeted

  6. That’s why I never hang out with Pedro or Luigi, I’m leaving at 19:10. I don’t like my time being wasted by somebody, it’s disrespectful.

  7. Just saying, if you’re not 15min early… What are you doing?

  8. Apparently I’m Swedish/Dutch/Danish.

I always aim for being a CHAD, but I plan my journeys with just enough laxity to arrive right on time.

  9. What can I say, it takes time to dry your hair and pick a outfit that isn’t socks and sandals

  10. I take so much pride in sayin stuff like “I’ll be there in 15” and then actually being there in 15, no more, no less.

  11. Guess you’ve never met someone from Brabant and their “brabants kwartiertje”

  12. Haha that really is us when we meet up with our beloved Euro friends 🥹❤️

  13. I can confirm, I always have a tragic story of how I’m late because the bus didn’t arrive in time but I don’t mention that it was actually on time but it runs every 30 mins and I knew that but didn’t check the timetable beforehand

  14. pretty accurate, happen to me yesterday, but its at 21:00 not 19:05

  15. You’re missing a few extra flags at the bottom…

  16. I think for most people France is the Cote D’usure (Renaud).

  17. Why are you asking to meet at 19hrs?

I’ll be there at 2130. And I’m not late. I just see no reason to be out so early.

  18. I will always carefully plan to be 15 minutes late and then smthg happens and I am 30 minutes late

  19. 30 min late is the fuckin minimum for us.

If i told friends to come at 19h00 and they actually do i would be kind of annoyed.

  20. Thanks for not inviting us. Social situations are terrifying.

  21. It’s super contextual for me. If going alone i will be on time.

Otherwise… could be from “on time” to “end of world (tons of memories of that, most of them involving a “pre-apero” to the first planned apero)”

  22. Ireland is a proud member of the “leaving in 5” club.

  23. Belgium not there because we don’t get invited by anyone.

  24. Having dinner with a Spaniard at 19:00?! They’re still at work or waking up from a siesta.

  25. Been living in Germany for nearly 8 years, German punctuality is an absolute myth, people will moan if you are late but it’s only used as a reason to moan. They like to think they are punctual but they are always, for one reason or another, late. Anything official is late, anything delivered is late and trans are sometimes so fucking are they end up early.

  26. What’s the joke behind Poland, Czech and Romania? Known for having bad public transit or something?

  27. I don’t think I’ve ever planned anything for a certain time thinking people would arrive at that exact time. Unless we’re talking about a really time sensitive/professional/travelling/etc things where for obvious reasons you HAVE to be punctual, I don’t see why we would live like our life is one scheduled teams meeting after another. I do that for 8 hours 5 days a week already. No thanks.
