  1. By that logic, Peter Cherif is a “hostage” of France.

  2. Unfortunately he’s not the only one conflating convicted terrorists caught in the act with civilian hostages taken from their homes across borders.

The brain rot in the west is too real.

  3. I don’t even care about the claim, but I do find the rhetorical shift from him on the middle east over these 2 years interesting.

We know he’s trying to take a leadership role in Europe and kinda succesfully as well, so him going from soft/hard Israel support to pretty loudly criticizing them is pretty important.

  4. I mean yeah, there are Palestinians being held hostage by Israel right now (“hostage” here meaning taken from one’s home and held in detention without being charged/convicted of a crime), and there is evidence of systemic sexual abuse taking place against them. This is a completely apt comparison.

  5. Israel doesn’t keep bodies of Palestinians as a negotiating tool.

  6. There’s that good ole antisemitism I’ve come to expect from France.

  7. This is going to be the start of new global terrorism if they know holding their own people hostage and using their own people as pawns will get sympathy and allow them to get what they want no matter the terrorist acts that they commit.

  8. That’s a really bad comparison.
Israeli hostages in Gaza didn’t do anything, but Palestinians jailed in Israel are mostly terrorists who did or are willing to kill any Israeli.

  9. Macron can literally go fk himself, but I’m guessing he’s catering to the crowds of Muslims who took over his country. There getting so used to the riots in France that they may just designate a riot season soon.

  10. Israel hasn’t choked a baby to death in prison, so no. Not the same.

  11. Mosab Hassan Yousef is a good example here. He is the son of one of the founders of Hamas. He tried to commit a terror attack in Israel and got arrested.

He says that Israel treated him as a palestinian prisoner so much better than Hamas treats their own people that he became an Israel spy and a pro Israeli activists.

Based of the many testimonies of released hostages and recent video published by Hamas the hostage are treated far far far worse then that.

  12. Macron really desparate for the Muslim vote huh.

  13. Oh for fucks sake, Macron.

Can people please stop indirectly supporting Hamas with this kind of BS? Treat them like the fascist scum they are, just like ISIS, there is no difference.

    This does not help anyone.

  14. France always out here forgetting they were the ones that created all the chaos in the Middle East themselves when they carved it up in the Sykes-Picot Agreement after WWI.

They didn’t give a shit about regional, ethnic, tribal, or religious reality, they just drew some borders wherever it suited them without any Arab involvement, and created the situation that persists to this day.

They need to keep their mouths shut when it comes to the Middle East.

  15. That’s because Macron is an idiot and will happily sacrifice Israel to keep all the Muslims in France happy

  16. Israelis are “hostages”, Palestinians are “imprisoned”. Seems the message didn’t get through.

  17. FFS lol I don’t agree with what the idf are doing like any sane person with empathy would but that statement damn!!!

  18. Well yes, Israeli detains without charge thousands of Palestinians, mostly in the West Bank.

What is the difference between detained without charge and kidnapping?

  19. That one is out of line. If you have any doubt how Israel treats terrorist prisoners, look up Samir Kuntar. That guy killed several people including a baby that he crushed with a rifle butt. Israel didn’t starve him or mistreat him in prison. He ate really well considering how fat he was on his release.
