The number of school graduates in Ukraine has dropped sharply over the past year, according to statistics from the National Multi-Subject Test (NMT).

According to Deputy Minister of Education Mykhailo Vinnytskyi, 12% of graduates failed the test this year, which means about 25 thousand schoolchildren.

From this, we can calculate the total number of graduates who took the NMT this year – 208 thousand people.

Meanwhile, last year, the number of those who took the test, according to official data, was 283,370 people. That is, the total number of those who took the test fell by more than 75,000 people, or 26%.

Previously, the Ministry of Education confirmed the trend of young people leaving abroad after graduating from school, but said that it was “not massive.” It was also claimed that many of those who left were taking the NMT abroad.
