I swear the Us uses pharse “punch above its weight” to every their allies.
Edit: Except Canada.
I think this is a far more important part than the headline.
> Managing the economic and political challenges posed by its departure from the EU will be the country’s key challenge; failure could lead to a splintering of the United Kingdom and leave it struggling to maintain its global power.
Don’t understand the negative tone of the replies here. Give credit where credit is due – UK has been a real ally within NATO and to Ukraine and pushing other countries along as well. While UK has its own set of problems and I certainly am not a fan of the current PM due to him leading UK to Brexit, at least from European perspective UK has done a stellar job for Ukraine. Keep it up and thank you!
In a time where we watch Ukraine David beat Russian Goliath, punching above your weight should be praised, not condemmed
I like the UK. Wonderful country with wonderful people, has a mad PM for all things domestic, and a quite a bit of mad Tory supporters.
As someone who has grown some resentment against British politics over the last few years I must say that it is undeniable how much better/more ressourceful the UK acted in the Ukraine-russia war. Compared to Germany and Austria (where I am from) the UK acted with less hesitance and more ambition, standing to their word of defending liberal order. Credit where credit is due.
PLease to those being mean about the UK cus Brexshit: the vast majority of us under 40 voted remain and feel European. ANd we have a shitty FPTP election system meaning we have maniacs with a large majority who only a minority of people voted for.

Who are they punching though?
Impressive considering their rampant obesity!
